In the days before Dennis the Menace and even Dr. Chessington, there were three far more innocent and charming characters, holding on to the zoo roots. These were Livingstone the lion, Mr. Ming the panda, and a badger whose name I don't know! Until just a few years ago, their faces took pride of place above the main entrance.
